Fox Sports Network: Carolina Hurricanes vs. Boston Bruins, April 2009, Katherine’s rendition of the National Anthem was featured including some very generous remarks by the Carolina Hurricanes commentators John Forslund and Tripp Tracy.

Atlanta Falcons: November 2008, KK was invited to sing for the Falcons after someone from their organization saw her sing at a local event in Raleigh. KK was invited back to sing for the Falcons in November 2009.

Carolina Panthers: September 2008, Katherine’s cousin captured KK performing the National Anthem at the Carolina Panthers game in Charlotte. KK sang for the Panthers again in October 2009.

UNC-TV Story: December 2008, UNC-TV introduces Katherine including the story of how she became the NHL Carolina Hurricanes National Anthem singer.

In late 2009, Katherine was invited to visit a studio in Nashville. She recorded 2 new, original songs, both sent to KK by a songwriter in Virginia. She was invited to Nashville this past December to record them on a demo tape.
“Dare to Dream” - KK really liked this song because it tells you to reach for the stars and believe in who you are.
"Just Wanna Be Me” - Katherine believes you should do what you want to as long as it’s healthy for you and you have your parent’s blessing. You shouldn’t let anyone else tell you that you can’t do it. The studio used a synthesizer with her voice during this song, which was Katherine’s idea. She was having a lot of fun with this song.

Katherine stepped into a recording studio to create a demo tape in early 2009.
KK wanted to sing her favorite Christmas song, “O Holy Night,” A cappella to feature her voice without accompaniment.
She also wanted to honor two of her favorite singers, Christina Aguilera and Carrie Underwood.
Katherine chose A Voice Within because it is a powerful song that tells you to trust yourself.
Crazy Dreams was selected by KK because she believes it speaks to children encouraging them to follow their dreams to become whatever they want to be.
